Dear Pine Grove Crossing Community:
Keeping in line with our consistent and ongoing communication with you, we wanted to inform you that an Assisted Living resident at Pine Grove Crossing began exhibiting respiratory symptoms earlier today. The individual was immediately isolated in their apartment, is getting proper care and will remain isolated until they are cleared by medical professionals. To be very clear, this is not a confirmed case of COVID-19. In the course of a normal flu season, the profile of the symptoms exhibited by this resident would be something we see on a frequent basis. But because of the current environment we are faced with, we are strictly adhering to the protocols established to protect the health and safety of our residents, families and associates.
Several tests are underway to rule out a variety of possible illness, many of which we regularly face each flu season for the seniors we care for in our communities. We want to assure each of you that we are taking all possible steps to protect our community. Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our residents, families and associates.
We will continue to follow the protocol for all residents and associates that was previously established through consultation with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), our skilled and capable clinical team, and our Medical Consultant, Dr. Gagandeep Singh.
We are in regular communication with our senior living colleagues throughout the state. While many other senior living providers in the state who are experiencing similar circumstances may not be communicating this information to their residents, families and staff, we feel strongly about the continued transparency with you in the very fluid state of times we are all experiencing.
We will provide you with an update about this resident’s overall condition once we learn more information. If you have any further questions, please reach out to Pine Grove Crossing Executive Director, Rita Waxon.
